MarketDeal24.Com – Government of India has decided to ban Chinese companies from participating in highway projects and that includes those through joint ventures, said union minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday.
The remark from a top government official is coming amid the ongoing standoff between India and China.
The minister also added that his government will make sure that Chinese investors are not allowed to invest in various other sectors like Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Amid the ongoing standoff, Indian government has banned around 59 Chinese apps from operating in the country citing threats to national security.
“We will not allow joint ventures that have a Chinese partner for roads and highways construction. We have taken a solid stand on this issue. If Chinese firms participate via joint ventures, we will not permit it.”
